About Us

Our dream is to grow a Vineyard church in Dunedin.

It will be a beautiful Vineyard nestled among the harbour hills. It will be God's home. His home of open doors for the spiritually hungry, those needing home, those seeking genuine relationship with Him and each other.

It will be a safe home beside the sea, sharing tolerance and respect—honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi as we walk in genuine partnership, cultural respect, and bicultural unity across Aotearoa. Where generous people as a family love each other and help those in need.

Mercy Vineyard is part of Vineyard Churches Aotearoa.

Our Values & Beliefs

Our Leaders

Dunedin-born Kel and Sharon have been part of the Vineyard movement for more than two decades. In late 2017, they returned from almost 15 years planting and leading a Vineyard Church in Lithuania.

At God's leading, they returned to their home city, Ōtepoti Dunedin, to plant Mercy Vineyard, which is part of Vineyard Churches Aotearoa New Zealand.

Both Kel and Sharon love reading, the arts and tour cycling, combined with occasional dirt track speedway adventures. They're wildly in love with Jesus and enjoy helping people receive His love, healing and freedom.

They also feel called to plant and support new churches in Otago and Southland, alongside other Vineyard whānau.

Whakapapa

Vineyard Klaipėda, Lithuania
Sharon and Kel planted and led Vineyard Klaipėda from 2003 – 2016. The beautiful people of this community taught them so much and still hold a very dear part of their hearts. In 2017 Vineyard Klaipėda sent Kel and Sharon to Dunedin to plant Mercy Vineyard.

Vineyard Benelux, the Baltic States & Poland
Vineyard Klaipėda is overseen by Vineyard Benelux. Kel and Sharon are grateful for their sound guidance, biblical leadership and influence in their lives.

Glasgow Central Vineyard, Scotland
Kel and Sharon interned with the former Glasgow Central Vineyard from 2000 – 2002. This was a rich time for their personal development and relationships with Jesus. It was also a time of great biblical teaching and sinking deep Vineyard roots.

The Blue Lagoon, formerly known as St David's Presbyterian Church
In 1999, St David's sent Kel and Sharon out to serve God in the nations. For decades, this faithful congregation lovingly cared and prayed for them and for God's kingdom coming around the world.
